Award-winning playwright, composer, actor and director
Gail Phaneuf is an award winning playwright, composer, producer, actor and director and the Artistic and Executive Director for the Historic Deertrees Theatre in Harrison Maine. Her teen musical The Love Note has enjoyed an Off Broadway run at Actors Temple Theatre in NYC, and continues to have numerous productions at schools, regional theaters and theater camps. The Love Note is now offered by Heuer Publishing and Brooklyn Publishers for production. MONSTERS! A Midlife Musical Meltdown, is a collaboration with Broadway lyricist Ernie Lijoi. MONSTERS! had its first full production at CentAstage in Boston and was a finalist in the Rod Parker Playwriting Competition, kicking off developmental readings in Boston and New York City.
Her new one woman theatrical imaging of Kip Tiernan, KIPPY, Pray for the Dead and Fight Like Hell for the Living, a unique and colorful Social Justice Hero in Boston Massachusetts. In 1974 she opened the world renowned Rosie’s Place, the FIRST EVER homeless shelter and sanctuary for women in the United States. She started Healthcare for the Homeless, The Poor People’s United Fund, Community Works and many more. Gail will perform KIPPY this year with dates soon to be announced
